ATMOVA combines CO2 efficiency and design Dornach, 15 October 2009 On 13 October 2009 ATMOVA received the Design & Technology Award for CO2 Efficiency at the “Materialica” International Trade Fair in Munich. ATMOVA was certified with the cross-industry signet for its verifiable CO2 reduction. The Design & Technology Award distinguishes successful products that provide functional, aesthetic and manufacturing technical impulses using innovative materials and thus unify design and materials. This was the first time the MunichExpo Veranstaltungs GmbH awarded a prize in this category at the international trade fair for material applications, surfaces and product engineering. The Design & Technology Award for CO2 efficiency combines the three elements of design, material use and carbon dioxide efficiency in one.
ATMOVA was able to capture the award in this new category for CO2 efficiency by protecting natural resources. ATMOVA ensures sustainable carbon dioxide efficiency throughout the overall life cycle. 85 percent of the metals used in the manufacture of ATMOVA roof tiles are recycled. The innovative friction stir welding process used to prepare the copper requires minimal energy and preserves the environment along the way. Moreover, the release of fine particulates or CO2 during the operation of the ATMOVA system is excluded. The architectural high-grade and durable roof tiles recover emissions-free and imperceptible heat from the ambient air temperature and by means of a heat pump make this energy available for the entire heating requirements of house.
